Impressed by how the jackets handled snow, ice, and moisture in the harsh Norwegian winter, he saw the future of mountain apparel. Later that same year, Norrøna introduced Europe’s first Gore-Tex jacket – helping redefine weather protection for climbers, skiers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
This jacket was named Norrøna trollveggen – inspired by Trollveggen, the 1,000 meter vertical drop of the Troll Wall (Trollvegen) in Romsdalen, Western Norway.
