In 1982, Hans Christian Doseth, Håvard Nesheim, Sjur Nesheim, and Chouinard Brooks completed the first winter ascent of the formidable Trollkjerring Route on Norway’s Troll Wall.
Battling cold temperatures, snow, ice, and short winter days, the team pushed Norwegian big-wall climbing into a new era.
The ascent further cemented the Troll Wall’s reputation as one of the world’s most challenging alpine climbing arenas. Like many groundbreaking Norwegian expeditions of the period, the climb also served as a demanding testing ground for Norrøna clothing and equipment.
