Tamok Forest Run

Deep powder in the dark of the polar night

Dark, deep and a little mystic. When the polar night settles over Tamok, a group of skiers and snowboarders head into the forest by headlamp – chasing powder and sharing the passion that brings them out there.

In the middle of winter, the sun barely makes it over the horizon in Northern Norway. Daylight is short, the light is blue and violet, and most of the skiing happens in the dark. In the Tamok valley, that is no reason to stay home.

Forest Run follows a crew of freeride skiers and snowboarders skinning up through the birch forest in the twilight, summiting under clear skies – and dropping into deep powder by headlamp after dark. No crowds, no lifts. Just friends, deep snow and a lot of laughs.

The film was made for the launch of the fall/winter 2016/17 tamok collection – Norrøna's freeride collection, named after the valley where it was tested.
