Join us for a fascinating evening at the Norrona Stockholm Flagship store where Sebastian will share anecdotes and photographs from his most recent trip through Greenland, which he calls "epic!"
About:
Last spring, Sebastian returned from 7 weeks in Northern Greenland, his 7th trip to Greenland. Traveling by dogsled with the Inughuit hunters over multiple seasons, Sebastian has reached some of the smallest and northernmost settlement.
There, he spent time studying and photographing this Inughuit population. In the village of Qeqertat, this means 12 individuals - including one child. Living from hunting and fishing, and entirely cut off from cell reception, internet or television, he recognized the people of Qeqertat are nonetheless affected by outside influences, most notably, the persistent changes in climate.
His work documenting the indigenous culture of Greenland is intended to live as an anthropologic testament of a culture, whose sustainability is threatened by systemic and global changes.
