Teamet besto av Arne Næss Jr., Ralph Høibakk, Stein P. Aasheim, Odd Eliassen, Bjørn Myrer Lund, Håvard Nesheim og Ola Einang.
Throughout the expedition, Norrøna clothing and equipment – from technical outerwear to backpacks and other gear – were put to the test in the harsh conditions of the Himalayas.
Joining the expedition was legendary British mountaineer Chris Bonington, one of the most respected climbers of his generation. Despite the immense challenges of climbing the world’s highest mountain, Bonington later described the venture as “the happiest expedition ever,” a tribute to the team spirit, camaraderie, and optimism that defined the journey.
The successful ascent brought international attention to Norwegian mountaineering and became another landmark chapter in the long relationship between Norrøna and some of the world’s most ambitious mountain expeditions.
