Résumé des avis
Mis à jour 22 octobre 2026

The lyngen down850 Hood is a highly praised, lightweight, and exceptionally warm down jacket designed for a variety of cold-weather activities. Its standout features include its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, excellent packability, and comfortable fit that allows for freedom of movement. Many users highlight its vibrant color options and stylish appearance.

Standout Features: Exceptional Warmth: Consistently described as "super warm," "never cold again," and providing immediate warmth upon wearing. Lightweight & Packable: Frequently lauded for being "super light," "extremely light," and packing down "easily into a small waterproof bag" or "small enough" for backpacks, making it ideal for travel and layering. Comfort & Fit: Users appreciate its "very comfy," "soft," and "technical fit" that allows for "freedom of movement." It's often noted for its "fluffy" and "lofty" feel. Versatile Layering: Many reviews emphasize its suitability as a mid-layer under shell jackets (e.g., Lofoten GTX, Gore-Tex, Lyngen shell) for skiing and colder conditions, as well as a standalone outer layer. Stylish Design: The jacket is frequently complimented for its "nice color," "beautiful colors," "vivid colors," and "great looking" appearance, with some noting its "Norrøna style with different colors." Practical Features: Good pockets, a protective hood that's "tight around the neck," and a durable zipper (despite appearing simple) are also mentioned.

Common Use-Cases: The most frequently mentioned activity for the lyngen down850 Hood is skiing, including downhill, off-piste, backcountry, and general ski hill use. It's often used as a mid-layer under a shell jacket for cold ski days or as an extra layer when skiing.

Beyond skiing, it's highly recommended for: Hiking & Backpacking: Its lightweight and packable nature make it perfect for "thru-hikes," "mountain adventures," and "hikes and walks." Everyday/Casual Wear: Many users wear it daily for work, errands, or as a "go-to" jacket in cold weather, appreciating its style and warmth. Winter Trips & Cold Climates: Ideal for "cold nights in town," "winter mountain adventures," and "cold summer and winter use."

Fit and Comfort Level: The jacket is generally described as having a "technical fit" or "slim fit," which is comfortable and allows for mobility. However, sizing can be a point of contention. Several reviewers, particularly women, recommend sizing up due to it being "a little too tight over the chest and forearms" or "very small in the size." The arm length is a recurring criticism, with multiple users finding the sleeves "too short" or "shorter than other Norrøna jackets," especially for taller individuals. Despite this, many find the fit "perfect" when sized correctly or for their body type. It's also noted to fit well under other Norrøna shell jackets of the same size.

Criticisms or Areas for Improvement: Feather Loss: A significant number of reviews mention the jacket "losing feathers" or "feathers coming out," sometimes from the first day of wear. This raises concerns about long-term durability and insulation effectiveness. Arm Length: As mentioned, the sleeves are frequently cited as being too short, which can be an issue for some users. Fragility: One user reported a "large tear" from a snag shortly after purchase, suggesting the outer fabric might be delicate. Another experienced a pocket zipper issue leading to a tear. Color Accuracy: Some users noted that the "colors aren't as bright as the picture" or "duller" than expected. Lack of Bright Colors (Women's): A specific request was made for Norrøna to "come back to bright colours on women’s collection." Unbleached Down: One review mentioned that in lighter colors, unbleached dark down can be visible through the fabric, making it appear "stained or actually unclean."

Conclusion: The lyngen down850 Hood is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a highly warm, incredibly lightweight, and packable down jacket, primarily for skiing and other cold-weather outdoor activities, as well as stylish everyday wear. It's particularly recommended for those who prioritize warmth-to-weight ratio, ease of layering, and a sleek aesthetic. Potential customers should be mindful of the sizing, especially regarding

Loving it! Super warm and puffy but also really lightweight and packs down easily into a small waterproof bag. Can be compressed a lot so it doesnt take up much space in the backpack. A little too tight over the chest and forearms, and shorter in the arms than other Norrøna jackets. I had to size up from M to L for a better fit.

I bought it some months ago. It is my second down jacket of this model. Once one put it on, the warm comes immediately. It is very very comfy. It is soft, light and with the technical fit, really practical for active activities. It allows freedom of movement. The zipp seems quite simple, but I still have the older from manh years ago, and it hadn’t broken. I bought it on size M and it fits perfectly under my Lofoten GTX jacket also size M. I would only ask Norrøna to please come back to bright colours on women’s collection. In the mountains and on white over white, one can more easily see the true green, red or hawaian blue that you always had.
