Introduced in 2018, Norrøna unstad was created for Arctic surfing, with wetsuits built to handle the cold water, rough weather, and demanding conditions of the far North.
The collection was named after Unstad, the legendary surf beach in Lofoten, where powerful waves meet the rugged Arctic coastline.
Later came the unstad parka – a protective layer designed to provide immediate warmth after leaving the water, with specialized features allowing surfers to change in and out of their wetsuits while still wearing it.
Built like armor against the elements, the parka soon found fans far beyond the surf community, among outdoor enthusiasts looking for maximum warmth and protection in harsh conditions.
