In 2009, Norrøna opened its first brand store in Akersgata, Oslo, marking the beginning of a major investment in direct-to-consumer retail.
Led by fourth-generation owner Jørgen Jørgensen, the move reflected a belief that Norrøna needed its own spaces to fully showcase the breadth of its collections, products, and brand philosophy.
The store was envisioned as more than a place to buy outdoor gear. It became a gathering place for adventurers, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts – a venue for events, film screenings, presentations, and shared experiences.
By bringing people together around inspiration, learning, and outdoor culture, the Norrøna stores helps strengthen Norrønas connection to the community it serves.
What began in Oslo would grow into a global retail network.
Today, Norrøna operates more than 40 stores worldwide, from New York and London to Chamonix, Stockholm, and Munich, creating destinations where outdoor enthusiasts can explore the brand, connect with like-minded people, and prepare for their next adventure.
