In 2007, Norwegian explorers Børge Ousland and Thomas Ulrich embarked on an expedition to Franz Josef Land, retracing part of the legendary route traveled by Fridtjof Nansen and Hjalmar Johansen more than a century earlier.
Traveling through the remote Arctic wilderness, Ousland and Ulrich combined modern expedition techniques with one of the most celebrated stories in polar exploration history.
Equipped with Norrøna’s arktis collection and expedition gear, the journey paid tribute to Norway’s pioneering explorers while continuing a tradition of pushing into some of the world's most challenging environments.
