2002The first falketind product
Introduced in 2002, the first Norrøna falketind product marked the beginning of a new generation of versatile mountain gear.
Named after the iconic Falketind peak in Jotunheimen – widely regarded as the first alpine mountain summit climbed in Norway, by Christian Peder Bianco Boeck, Baltazar Mathias Keilhau, and Ole Urdi in 1820 – the concept was created for mountaineers who wanted one product to perform across a wide range of activities and conditions.
The almost poetic shape of Falketind, and the pioneering spirit of that remarkable first ascent, have inspired Norrøna for more than 25 years.
Lightweight, functional, and highly versatile, falketind introduced a more dynamic approach to technical mountain clothing and laid the foundation for what would become one of Norrøna’s most enduring and popular product families.
Today, the collection spans everything from shell jackets and pants to fleece, down insulation, shorts, technical baselayers, and a wide range of outdoor pants – all designed for mountaineering, hiking, and life in the mountains.
