In the summer of 1979, Hans Christian Doseth and Ragnhild Amundsen made climbing history by completing the first free ascent of the legendary Rimmon Route in Norway’s Troll Wall.
At a time when big wall free climbing was still in its infancy in Scandinavia, the ascent represented a major leap forward in both technical difficulty and climbing ethics. Their achievement helped establish Trollveggen – the Troll Wall – as one of Europe’s premier big-wall climbing destinations and further cemented Doseth’s and Amundsen's reputations as two of the most talented climbers of their generation.
