In 1994, Norwegian climber Jon Gangdal led a Norwegian expedition attempting to climb Mount Everest from the mountain’s challenging north side in Tibet.
The team set out with ambitious goals and relied on a specially developed version of Norrøna’s trollveggen collection, designed and refined specifically for the extreme demands of high-altitude Himalayan climbing.
The team's Everest dream was ultimately cut short following a dramatic accident on the mountain, forcing the expedition to abandon its summit attempt. Although the climb ended in disappointment, the expedition provided invaluable experience and reinforced the reality that success in the Himalayas is measured not only by summits reached, but also by the difficult decisions required to return safely from the world’s highest peaks.
