Review Summary
Updated July 2, 2026

The Norrøna lofoten Gore-Tex Pants are primarily recommended for resort skiing and freeriding, with some suitability for randonee touring.

Standout Features: These pants are praised for their excellent fit and mobility, particularly for those with longer legs, and a "typical Lofoten fit" that many find appealing. They boast superb comfort and effective weather protection, keeping users dry. Practicality is enhanced by useful pockets and side vents that work well in varying temperatures.

Common Use-Cases: The overwhelming majority of positive reviews highlight their performance in skiing on slopes and in resorts, with specific mentions of Alpe D'Huez and Zermatt. One reviewer also successfully uses them for randonee touring, appreciating the ventilation and pockets for this activity.

Fit and Comfort Level: The lofoten Gore-Tex Pants are consistently described as having a great, comfortable, and practical fit. They are noted for their suitability for longer legs, with one user specifically mentioning a 94cm inside leg length. The fit is generally considered "nice" and "as expected" for the Lofoten line.

Criticisms and Areas for Improvement: The most significant criticism revolves around durability and fabric quality. One user experienced a hole after only four hours of careful use, leading to a strong condemnation of the product's quality. Another reviewer expressed disappointment with the fabric, finding it "soft and thin" compared to previous versions, suggesting a potential decline in robustness and a preference for the "Gtx Pro" version for sturdiness.

Conclusion: The Norrøna lofoten Gore-Tex Pants are recommended for resort skiers and freeriders who prioritize a comfortable, mobile, and well-fitting shell pant with excellent features like ventilation and practical pockets. They are also a viable option for those engaging in randonee touring who value good ventilation and storage. However, potential buyers should be aware of recent concerns regarding fabric durability and perceived quality, especially if they are accustomed to older, more robust Norrøna products or if extreme durability is a primary concern. For those seeking maximum ruggedness, exploring the "Gtx Pro" version might be a better option.

I bought this product and it got a hole in it after just 4 hours of use. The pant was used carefully. If this is the product you buy, you will have to throw it after you have used it 3-4 times because it simply doesn’t have the quality Norrøna promise.

Have finally had the chance to try out these ski pants in Alpe D’Huez and they have proven a fantastic purchase. Very comfortable, kept me dry, very useful pockets and the side vents worked a charm on warmer days. Looking format to taking them to Zermatt next month!
