Three pairs, all made from our flex1 softshell fabric, ranging from 278 to 698 grams. Here is how to choose between light and simple, all-round, and built for mountain rescue.
All three pants are made from flex1, our stretchy softshell fabric. It moves with you, breathes well and keeps the wind out. What changes from one pair to the next is the fabric weight, the features and how much rough use each pair is built to take.
femund flex1 tech is the light, simple pair for hiking and everyday use. falketind flex1 is our all-season mountaineering pant. trollveggen flex1 rescue was developed with the Norwegian alpine rescue team (NARG) and is our most durable softshell pant.

Fabric and weight
femund flex1 tech uses a light 125 g/m² double weave with UPF 50+ sun protection. At 278 g, it is the lightest of the three. It resists drizzle and wind, and it stays comfortable when the day gets hot.
falketind flex1 steps up to a 200 g/m² mid-weight fabric, which is made to be worn all year. It is treated with a PFC-free water-repellent finish, and it has the best breathability rating of the three.
trollveggen flex1 rescue weighs 698 g, which is well over twice as much as femund. The extra weight goes into toughness: heavier 274 g/m² fabric on the knees and seat, a 3-layer Vectran blend at the hems, and a waterproof dri1 liner inside the knees.

femund keeps things simple. It has tapered legs and no hem adjustment or knee pleats, so the legs are easy to shorten. falketind adds mesh side vents, a zipped lower leg that fits over light ski touring boots, and articulated knees for climbing. trollveggen rescue adds what a rescue team asks for: pockets for knee pads, suspender attachments, loops for a radio and reflective details.

Built with mountain rescuers
We have worked with NARG, the Norwegian alpine rescue team, since they tested our trollveggen Gore-Tex Pro Jacket and Bib in 2010. The trollveggen rescue collection is the result of that work. The pants carry everything a rescue team needs, so they are just as useful for anyone who works in the mountains.
