In 2010, Bjørn-Eivind Årtun and Colin Haley completed the first ascent of the Dracula Route on Mount Foraker (5,304 m) in Alaska.
Climbing one of the most remote and committing faces in the Alaska Range, the pair combined technical rock, ice, and mixed climbing in true alpine style, carrying only the equipment needed to move fast and efficiently through the mountain.
The ascent quickly gained international recognition and earned a nomination for the prestigious Piolet d'Or, often referred to as the highest honor in mountaineering.
Throughout the expedition, Årtun relied on Norrøna’s technical mountain apparel from the new falketind collection, continuing the company’s long tradition of supporting climbers operating at the forefront of modern alpinism.
Today, the Dracula Route is regarded as one of the standout alpine achievements of its era and a testament to the skill, commitment, and vision of two climbers pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world’s great mountain ranges.
