Recycled nylon comes from used fishing nets, post‐industrial waste fiber and yarn collected from spinning and processed into reusable nylon fiber. The benefits of recycling nylon come from the reduced energy needed to produce the final fiber, reduced dependence on oil, and the diversion of waste from landfills.
Washing your GORE-TEX® and dri products will prolong the life of the product. This is how you should wash GORE-TEX® and dri products:
Remember to close all zippers and Velcro. The garment should be washed at 40 degrees, with a mild detergent and no softening or rinsing agents. Do not use bleach. Softeners, rinsing agents and bleaches can damage the fabric’s water-resistant properties (not the membrane/waterproofing) and the color of the fabric. Rinse the garment twice, if possible. Use water repellent spray on the outside of the garment after washing for optimal water-resistance (this has nothing to do with the waterproof quality of the garment, but makes it easier for water to roll off the outer fabric). Dry the garment on a low setting in the dryer, if you like, or iron it at a low temperature. Warmth helps to reactivate the waterproofing. The garment must be dry before washing and before being put away.

The bets Gore-Tex trousers! These trousers are really well cut, they are not too tight but not too roomy either. There's enough space for additional layers without being too loose. There is no restrictions in movement and fabric feels really nice next to skin. The pockets are well placed and big enough to carry phone, wallet, maps, ...
I owe the previous version of Svalbard trousers and I was very happy when I bought them. I would rate them 4.5 out of 5 because they are a bit too tight in the upper part. The new version is just perfect! Better cut, better pockets and added ventilation zips.
I cannot say much about durability because I’ve owned them only couple of months, but the fabric and stitching seems to be bomb proof

Great productI bought this product in April this year for our tour in Iceland.
This pant was very comfortable in every activity.
Also now for private activities in Switzerland it's very useful.
I can only recommend it.
Hi. I am a little confused. The main picture indicates 2 cargo pockets, the technical description implies a single cargo pocket and other thumbnail pictures when opened indicate zipped thigh pockets as per the flex pants. Could you confirm please.

Thank you for the question regarding the Svalbard Gore-Tex Pants. The pants have two zipper- and two cargo pockets in front of the pants.
The Svalbard Flex1 pants have two zipper pockets, one side pocket on the right thigh and a side pocket nearly on the knee in the left side of the pants. This product has no cargo pockets.
I hope this information was helpful.

Can you please tell me the maximum width of these pants in a size Medium at the knee and at the ankle opening?
Do all Svalbord style pants have the same fit? Could these layer over the Heavy-Duty Pants?
Asked by: Anonymous
Thanks for your question on the Svalbard Gore-Tex Pants. The knee measure is 52,5 cm in M and the bottom leg width is 45,5 cm. Inside leg length/inseam is 85 cm in size M. The fit on svalbard pants is adapted to the intended usability of the pants, but quite the same. So you should have the same size in the different pants. The svalbard Gore-Tex pants is really great and a favorite among several of my colleagues here at Norrøna HQ.

It makes sense to buy these pants for the winter? I need windproof pants for the urban environment (such as - walk in the park) in the minus 10C for about 40-60 minutes. I want to use them together with super longs baselayer.
Asked by: Natalya
These are great windproof and waterproof pants, and they are quite "heavy duty" so they will last for a long time. It is made as a all-season pant, with optimal usage in winter. If you want pants that are a bit less heavy duty you could have a look at these which are also all-season pants: https://www.norrona.com/en-GB/products/falketind/falketind-gore-tex-pants-women/
But the Svalbard pants is great and will last for many many years, and have a lot of usage areas.
