<p>These cotton knickers are made for hiking, Nordic skiing, mountaineering, and general outdoor activities.</p> <p>We use a classic Canvas fabric because it is windproof, durable and comfortable.</p> <p>The main fabric is a Canvas construction. 60% organic cotton, 40% recycled polyester 295g/m2. CO DWR. This classic canvas material gets finer and finer – and softer and softer – as you use it. We use a flex1 strong double weave material in the seat and knees because it offers stretch in all directions. 50% recycled polyamide, 43% polyester, 7% Elastene 275g/m2. C0 DWR.</p> <p>Main features include: A custom fit waist system. Belt loops. Inside loops that allow you to use suspenders (purchased separately). Two zipped front pockets. Internal mobile phone pocket in the right pocket. A zipped thigh pocket and a buttoned thigh pocket. Ventilation with mesh on the sides. The knee is bent for easier movement. The knickers are a little bit higher at the back than at the front.</p> <p>Knickers – or “nikkers” in Norwegian – are traditional pants with roots all the way back to USA and Great Britain in the 1800s. The definition of knickers is “a loose-fitting short pants gathered just below the knees.” The knickers pants soon became popular among both rich people, workers and sportsmen. In Norway, it became the preferred clothing for skiing, mountain climbing and general outdoor activities 150 years ago. Both Nansen and Amundsen used knickers on their famous polar expeditions. These days, the knickers are experiencing a renaissance and getting more and more popular.
