Our most versatile all season waterproof and breathable
jacket for men. Light enough for summer use and durable
enough for winter use. Made of a specially developed
GORE-TEX® fabric with a comfortable, slightly
brushed backer. The jacket has a short fit and features
including long underarm vents, a weather protective
hood suitable for helmet and asymmetric cuffs for
better weather protection. We recommend stashing
your cell phone in the designated pocket on the inside
of the jacket, in order to prevent moisture damage. The pockets are placed so it is accessible while using a backpack with hip belt.
The Gore-Tex fabric is 20 Denier.
A durable GORE-TEX® fabric suitable for a wide range of activities. In the 3-layer construction, the membrane is laminated to the lining on one side and to the outer fabric on the other, providing enhanced durability. Generally lighter than a 2-layer construction.
Waterproof: min. 28,000 mm*
Breathablility: High, down to 9 RET**
* ISO 811-test

Washing your GORE-TEX® and dri products will prolong the life of the product. This is how you should wash GORE-TEX® and dri products:
Remember to close all zippers and Velcro. The garment should be washed at 40 degrees, with a mild detergent and no softening or rinsing agents. Do not use bleach. Softeners, rinsing agents and bleaches can damage the fabric’s water-resistant properties (not the membrane/waterproofing) and the color of the fabric. Rinse the garment twice, if possible. Use water repellent spray on the outside of the garment after washing for optimal water-resistance (this has nothing to do with the waterproof quality of the garment, but makes it easier for water to roll off the outer fabric). Dry the garment on a low setting in the dryer, if you like, or iron it at a low temperature. Warmth helps to reactivate the waterproofing. The garment must be dry before washing and before being put away.

Great jacket for skiing even though it is lightweight. This jacket is a replacement under warranty (even after 3 years wear) and I am very pleased with Norrona for that even if it was a relatively minor wear issue.
When I chose the first jacket I considered the Lofoten Jacket but decided against it because it did not have front hand warmer pockets as I do tend to walk with my hands in them.
The inside phone pocket really needs to be bigger.
I've been skiing in -18 deg C and had to put a Falketind Primaloft 60 jacket on top of my normal merino 260gm base, Lofoten warm 1 jacket so even though it is slim fitting you can get some extra layers under when necessary.
I have since bought the Lofoten Goretex Pro jacket and trousers as I have drooled over them for some time and my old Eider stuff was beginning to wear out. My comment about the Lofoten not having hand warmer pockets is still true but I have done rigorous bedroom testing (waiting for next January to actually ski in it) and notice that with a suitable jacket underneath, in my case a Lofoten Warm2 you can unzip the pit zips and comfortably put your hands in through to the pockets underneath. Of course this may not be too good if it is raining but it wasn't in the bedroom!

Really nice attention to detailI ordered this jacket to be delivered to Canada about a month ago and it was delivered within 2 days! Great shipping service by Norrona.
In terms of features that I have quickly become fond of are:
The asymmetrical sleeve cuffs that cover the back of your hand against the wind and water dripping down the sleeves.
The velcro at the sleeves that are set back from the cuff so they can be tightened at the wrist, but are still wide enough for the width of your hand.
The material chosen for the inner liner that is soft against the skin.
Similar to other Scandinavian brands, the Norrona Falketind was designed to be comfortable for all seasons and feels tough enough against brush abrasion for hiking. The fit may be a bit narrow if your build is wider as it seems to be designed to be very form-fitting.

Good jacketI purchased this jacket a month ago. Great fit; great color. I stayed dry after a three mile run in the rain. Love the long sleeve length and ample hood.

Minimalistic and short shell with a fantastic hoodNorrøna promotes the falketind as their all-year, all purpose shell and that is a good description for it.
The jacket got an athletic fit with nice and long arms and extra room in at the shoulder/pit area. Ideal for movement and layering. Far better than other brands.
I'm 177cm and 55kg and the XS leaves me enough room for a baselayer and a light midlayer without impeding movement.
The hood is also a strong selling point as it is large enough to accommodate a climbing helmet without feeling massive and uncontrollable without one. It offers excellent protection with it's hardened brim without impairing peripheral vision.
It's not perfect though. For one, the outer pockets are placed well so you can easily access them while wearing a pack's hip belt, but they are long and narrow so it limits what you can pack in there. And with little room below the zip's end makes it feel insecure if you happen to forget to close them again.
The inner pocket is also not very good. It's too small for a modern phone so you are limited to few accessories.
And second is the length of the jacket in the front. It's short, very short and practically all my midlayers whether it be a primaloft jacket or a fleece peaks out from below the hem in the front.
I would have liked a slightly longer front as the back is perfect length.
Lastly I've noticed a bit of delamination on the cuffs. It's not enough to warrant contacting customer service, at least not yet.
I want to know which size fit me (height 173cm ,chest 98cm,weight 76Kg).Thanks.

I am 170cm for 63kg
Chest 91. Small is perfect for me.

I own a Lofoten Anorak for women and the greatest thing is that it zips into the Lofoten pants for women.
Is that also possible with this jacket although it is a falketind product and also a male product?
Thank you in advance!

The Falketind range of products does not come with a powderskirt, so it will not be possible to zip it to the Lofoten Pants.

I´m thinking about to buy that jacket for hiking with heavy backpacks (around 20kg or more). I know that jackets with gore pro are suitable for that. Can i use the Norrona falketind jacket as well with backpacks that heavy?
Gefragt von: SimonSuperTramp
You can use the falketind gore-tex jacket with a heavy backpack. Just check and make sure your backpack does not have rough/ uneven edges. A backpack with rough edges can create friction that is hard on the jacket. But a backpack with more smooth shoulder straps and hip belt is not a problem.

Hi guys, I want buy this jacket, my question is: can I use it also for skiing in powder and also in slopes? Obviusly I will use it in ice climbing walking in winter and summer. I have another question, can I match also your powder zip with falktind pants?

Firstly the Norrona stuff is really beautifully made almost too beautiful to be crashing through trees in the back country, It so light I'm terrified of ripping it. That said it takes a beating and I've not had any problems yet. For touring and regulating temperature across 4 seasons it is brilliant and I'm really pleased. On the piste it looks rocking with bamboo green zips on grey pants matched to Bamboo green jacket, but thats upside. Great kit

could you be so kind and specify what gore material this jacket is made of? Is it c-knit? And if so, how does it compare in terms of breathability to gore pro? Kind regards, Rich

Is the 20 denier rating really 4 times less in terms of thickness or density compared to your 80 rated jackets? I am getting a replacement jacket from you after my Roldal was lost by Norrona's factory when it went for water test. Roldal is 75 rating.
