Polartec® Alpha® starts with a highly efficient insulation fabric, which is based on the Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft technology platform. This technology is uniquely suited to create warmth without weight, and exceptional breathability, compressibility and dry times via high loft fibers in a low density knit. Current market synthetic insulations are not breathable enough to handle the ”go” phases of most backcountry pursuits. They are typically additional garments that must be carried for use during static period. Polartec® Alpha excels at providing comfort for users on the move.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best light jacket in the entire world buy immediately Even though this jacket is lightweight, it is incredibly warm. It is water resistant and wont let water through unless it gets soaked. The fit is very nice, a slim fit. I'm 183 CM, 90 kg and the large fits very nice. The quality is superb and the pockets with the zippers are well done. I love this jacket and your life is meaningless without it. Buy the jacket and you will see what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and super comfortable! I bought my second jacket a month ago, because I love the falketind Alpha60 jacket I bought 2 years ago. I'll be buying another one in a different color next year. This is one of my favorite jackets of all time. The fit feels tailored to me since it's sleeves are long and the waist is slim. It is really light weight, yet provide great warmth and its very versatile. Over all, Norrøna is my favorite brand. I love the styles, fit, comfort and quality, which explains why I own more than a dozen of their products and plan on buying more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the weight the warmth is difficult to beat Purchased one of these for personal use and as soon as trying it on I ordered a second for use as a mid layer for Mountain Rescue. Ridiculously warm for the packed weight with a good degree of wind proofing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Falketind Bought this for F&L time in the hills, works well for moving fast and I have used it for running in minus temps. Shifts moisture pretty quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket for active use The Alpha60 material is simply stunning. It is the first jacket that I own that isn’t heating up uncomfortably, compared to similar style jackets including Primaloft, Pinneco, and Yak wool. So good in fact, I bought another one a size bigger. Reason is, that the fit is quite athletic and even though I’m very slim (1.80m 66kg) the size S fits very snug throughout. The outside material does not stretch much. Would not be able to fit anything underneath other than a shirt. The size M is much roomier and fits easily over an extra layer, e.g. over a fleece. This way it still breathes but is another touch warmer. The product itself is beautifully made and quite practical: side pockets, thumb loops, high neck that sits close enough to avoid chills. Highly recommended, but size up if you are athletically built, prefer a roomier fit (anything above tight), or would like to fit a garment underneath.

Hi, How many ounces or grams of polartec alpha is in the Falketind alpha60 jacket?

    Asked by: lxmcfa
It’s nit much 60 I think. It’s lighter than their alphas100 gillet. Definitely a summer jacket.

Do you plan to product another alpha jacket like Alpha60 but with a hoodie ?

    Asked by: Licare09
No. I see the alpha 60 as a mid layer only( for me under a goretex pro shell). I already heve a first layer from Norton’s with a hood. That’s plenty.
