In 2023, Norrøna acquired Canvas Hotel, a one-of-a-kind wilderness lodge in the heart of Telemark, Norway.
Originally founded by outdoor entrepreneur Jan Fasting, Canvas had earned an international reputation for its spectacular network of flowing mountain bike trails, as well as outstanding opportunities for trail running, hiking, and just relaxing in the outdoors.
The acquisition represented another step in Norrøna’s journey from creating outdoor equipment to creating outdoor experiences.
For fourth-generation owner Jørgen Jørgensen, a passionate mountain biker himself, Canvas had long been a favorite destination. Beyond the riding, the lodge became a natural venue for board meetings, leadership gatherings, and conversations with partners and friends of the brand.
Surrounded by forests, lakes, and endless trails, Canvas embodied Norrøna’s belief that some of the best ideas emerge when people step outside and into nature.
