By relocating its wool production to Europe, Norrøna significantly reduced transportation distances and the environmental footprint associated with moving materials and finished products around the globe.
Just as importantly, owning and operating its own factory gave Norrøna a unique opportunity to better understand every step of the manufacturing process – from the first design sketches and prototypes to testing, material selection, and final production.
The closer connection between designers, developers, and production teams created new opportunities for innovation, quality control, and continuous improvement.
