Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm ,super comfortable I have had this garment for 9 mths and use it as a stand alone jacket for brisk morning walks and as a mid layer under my gore-tex shell. The cut allows for great athletic mobility and the warmth is significant for those long days Skiing and instructing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product The build quality is normal Norrona first class and the jacket is super warm. Light weight and cool colour makes this an everyday item as well as layering under my lofoten shell jacket on a cold day .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super jacket! I bought the same for my girlfriend and now for myself. I missed the size, but they changed it very quickly without questions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a find Stumbled upon this brand in the retailer Ellis Brigham in Chester. I was amazed at the quality of the ski wear also the colours comfort and styling. Also I’m tall with long arms - the fit is excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good jacket - I’m sure Norrona will improve on it next year A very light insulation piece. But has a few issues. Warmer than comparable Ghost Whisperer and Cerium SL due to down quality and volume. Excellent high neck line. Is long for its width other than the arms which are unnecessarily baggy. Not as athletically cut as say Arc’teryx - this is more of an insulation piece, less of an active piece. It is intended to be light - you wouldn’t want to wear a back pack with this. Zip is particularly fragile (given weight). Mine is fine but I’ve returned 3 which had broken zips (might have been a batch problem). The green is very light/bright and somewhat transparent. The Mercury is actually rather brown in hue. Finally despite many retailer descriptions, this jacket does NOT have a stuff pocket or sack. A frankly glaring omission given everyone will be packing this jacket! I’m sure that will be fixed next year but quite bemusing and disappointing given it is more expensive than any of its competitors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely light and packable down jacket I got to test this lofoten down jacket for a period and I'm very impressed. It is so light and packable, and it still gives a very nice warmth and comfort. I have used it for ski touring, tent camp life in both cold and warmer areas. It is the jacket you want to always bring a long, at least when you live in Norway. I used it as an extra warmth layer beneath my Lofoten Gore-Tex Active jacket when reaching the top while ski touring, and as outer layer on when having breaks on the way up. I have also used it as a casual jacket on day to day basis when the temperatures have been between 5 to 15 degrees. I wear a size S and I am normally an S in Norrøna, being 172cm and 60kg. I really recommend this jacket!

Hello, Can it be packed in its own pocket like the Lyngen Down?

    Asked by: Takeo
This is a super light, super warm jacket cut well to retain the warmth and not be baggy. It can either be used as an excellent mid layer for sub zero days or a stand alone jacket. It stows away for packing into it’s own side pocket. It does not have an internal pocket.

is the down treated for water repellency?

    Asked by: mfrazier
Hello mfrazier, None of our down products are treated with water repellent. Our down products use the highest available down quality that we can find, which is a by-product of the food industry. Our down comes from the mountains of Pyrenees in France, and all treatment of the birds complies with European standards, and the highly specialized washing of the down passes the Oeko-Tex 100 standards. If you are looking for a weatherproof down jacket, I recommend the lyngen Gore-Tex Infinium down850 Hood Jacket available from the 3 September 2018 in our webshop:

How warm is the jacket compared to my midlayer lyngen primaloft 60. is is suited for a normal skiday without a gore first layer?

    Asked by: Leon
Hello Leon, I would say that the experienced level of insulation should be quite similar for the Lyngen Primaloft60 and this down piece. It is our lightest down piece, and the intended use is either to use it as a mid layer on colder days, or as an outer layer when having breaks during ski touring. You can definitely wear it as a super light outer layer for a normal day of skiing, but keep in mind the low durability. It is not intended to take a lot of beating compared to a shell jacket, so you'll have to be careful with this piece if you want to use it as an outer layer. If you want a piece with higher durability, I would recommend the Tamok Lightweight Down750, which is more ideal for a stand-alone outer layer with higher durability. I hope my advice was helpful to you. Best regards, Alexander - Norrøna Fan Support

I have a lofoten pants. Does the jacket have push buttons to fit with the pants? Regards Jochen

    Asked by: Leon
Hi Leon, Thanks for your question. This down jacket does not have push buttons fitting the lofoten pants. Only the outer hard shell layers have that. And the buttons on the hard shell jackets are on an inside powder skirt, which is removable. That would have added weight and compromising the comfort of this super light down jacket. Have this jacket myself and wear it so much, always with me either in the backpack or on me. Best regards, Jens, Norrøna Fan Support
