Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really warm and light This is a great lightweight jacket to keep you warm when it isn't too freezing out or you plan on being active. I tend to wear it when it cool, maybe down to -5 degrees, colder if I'm say hiking or playing outside with my dog. I bought the Lyngen down750 jacket as well and that's what I wear for the really cold days. The colour is beautiful and it squishes up super small for packing. It definitely fits larger/wider than other Norrona jackets (I own about a dozen, all size small, but this fits more like a medium), so think about whether you want it larger to accommodate wearing layers underneath and if not, considered sizing down (I wish I had).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light yet warm I bought this just over a month ago and I wear it almost every day! First, the colour is stunning. But most of all is the impressive thermal qualities for such a light jacket. It's kept me warm on the coldest days in the UK and not too warm during the milder days so it's perfect. And the fit is tailored yet loose enough to wear a decent jumper or layers underneath which I find other similar jacket too snug; it's also a decent length. I'm a 12 and the medium is great. It's perhaps runs slightly large but I prefer that for the reason above.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, warm, comfortable I bought it for almost a year ago and I have been using it ever since, winter, spring, summer (some cold days). I use it both as a single jacket and as a lining under my Norröna anorak and under my coat from Hope.

This jacket has the same insulation rating (4) as the Lyngen lightweight down 750 jacket.  The Lyngen one looks much bulkier and warmer - are they really about the same warmth level? Which of the two would you recommend for casual use in the mountains?

Asked by: Alli
Hi Alli, I have both and can confirm that the lyngen lightweight down is a bit warmer than this jacket. The other difference is that the Lyngen jacket is down and this one is primaloft. I use the lyngen lightweight most in the winter, and also use the lyngen lightweight down for skiing when the temperatures are low. Skied in the lyngen lightweight in -20 this weekend, and was not cold. I use the primaloft jacket more in fall and in spring here in Norway. So my recommendation would be the lyngen lightweight, but the primaloft would also work. Best regards, Jens Norrøna Fan Support
