Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and pretty I debated a ton between this and the falketind primaloft100 jacket. I ended up getting both so here is the difference: This jacket is definitely warmer. I live in Canada and some days it is down to -10 to -15, even colder when I'm in the mountains. Unless I'm working out hard, like cross country skiing or ski touring, the primaloft 100 isn't warm enough for those cold days. Even for sitting in a hockey rink, watching a game, this is much better for the added warmth. The colour is gorgeous. Other down jackets have made me feel too "puffy" but this one is more forgiving. The arms work well independently of the rest of the jacket so you can be active and not have the entire jacket ride up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket This is the best and my favourite jacket for layering on colder days. I am 5'10 and 160lbs (athletic build) and I wear the medium - it hits me at the hips and long enough in the arms, a slim through the body (enough room for a mid-layer). It's a versatile jacket that I wear ski touring to downhill to walking the dog. I bought this jacket a couple of years ago, and it was stolen from my vehicle. I looked at other jackets and nothing compared, so I just re-purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Veldig fornøyd Veldig fornøyd med denne jakken! Myk og lett dunjakke. Fargen er noe annerledes enn på bildet. På bildet er jakken mer "neonblå" enn hva den er i virkeligheten, jeg synes fargen var finere i virkeligheten.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb These are the best weight to warmth jacket I've ever had. The fit is like no other jacket I've worn. Long enough to cover the right areas and the hood is a must for me. Have worn these jackets for the last 5 seasons and buy a couple every year. You don't feel at all restricted doing all the usual chores. Just can't recommend them enough.

Hi, I just bought the Norrøna Falketind Gore-Tex Jacket in Small and am interested in purchasing this down jacket for layering underneath. Will the lyngen lightweight down750 Jacket in Small fit under the Norrøna Falketind Gore-Tex Jacket in size Small?

    Asked by: keren
Hi keren, Yes it should fit. But that also depend on how big the falketind gore-tex jacket is on you. If that jacket is very tight, it can be difficult with any size under, but as long as it has a bit room inside, a Small should fit great :) Best regards Nina

Hi, I'm travelling from Australia to Norway this winter and I'm not really used to very cold weather. Would this jacket be warm enough for winter weather? I also want to wear it under the Falketind Gore-Tex Jacket (S) - so which size is best?

    Asked by: Fiona
I have a Bitihorn Dri3 jacket in S and it makes a bit too tight combination with a size S Lyngen down jacket. However, I think that Falketind might be slightly more loosely cut. I wouldn't recommend you taking a size XS of the down jacket if S is your size, just to be able to fit it under your shell, for it might be too tight and therefore too cold. As for the suitability for winter weather - quite difficult to say, it all depends on your own "chill factor" and of course the winter temperatures in Norway at the time of your travel. Being from Australia, you probably aren't that used to cold temperatures, so I would suggest you get a jacket with more down. Better to play it safe! I'm a Finn and use the Lyngen all year around, but on winter hikes and skitours (temperatures around -15 --30 degrees Celsius) I always take a heavier, warmer jacket. Hope this helps!
