Certifications and memberships

OEKO-TEX® offers companies of the textile industry several certifications and services to have their products tested for harmful substances by independent institutes, and to optimize their production conditions and their supply chains with regard to sustainability.


bluesign® is a system to ensure a sustainable supply chain by securing resource efficiency, consumer safety, water, and air emissions and HSE. bluesign® provides this insight into the value chain from an extensive certification scheme of fabric and trim suppliers. Norrøna wants to become a member to secure our production from an environmental point of view.

Fashion for Good
Fashion for Good is the global initiative that is here to make all fashion good. It’s a global platform for innovation, made possible through collaboration and community. With an open invitation to the entire apparel industry, Fashion for Good convenes brands, producers, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organizations, innovators and funders united in their shared ambition.

Outdoor Industry Association
The Outdoor Industry Association is a membership-driven trade organization for the outdoor industry. In collaboration with their members, they are a force for the industry in recreation and trade policy, sustainable business innovation and increasing outdoor participation.

Textile Exchange
Textile Exchange is a global nonprofit organization that works closely with all sectors of the textile supply chain to find the best ways to minimize and even reverse negative environmental and social outcomes created by this $1.7 trillion industry.

The Responsible Down Standard is an independent, voluntary global standard, which means that companies can choose to certify their products to the RDS, even if there is no legislation requiring them to do so. The RDS was developed and revised over three years, with the input of animal welfare groups, industry experts, brands, and retailers. The standard recognizes and rewards the best practices in animal welfare.

The Responsible Wool Standard is an independent, voluntary standard. On farms, the certification ensures that sheep are treated with respect to their Five Freedoms and also ensures best practices in the management and protection of the land. Through the processing stages, certification ensures that wool from certified farms is properly identified and tracked.
