Norrøna only wants to use Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified wool
Norrøna wants to be sure that the wool we use come from sheep that have been treated well, and bred on farms that are run in a sustainable manner.
We are pleased that Textile Union has introduced the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), and we are looking forward to seeing it being developed further. Currently we believe the standard is lacking in regards to farm certification, and Norrøna has therefore chosen to use the ZQ and New Merino certifications for our wool.
However we do believe the RWS will become the dominant standard, and we believe it will develop into a solid, global standard. Thus Norrøna is sourcing according to the RWS, and in 2019 we wish to exclusively source wool that satisfies the requirements of the RWS.
ZQ and New Merino are stricter than the current version of the RWS.
